Research thought piece

When I look back over my research proposal and bibliography I think about

what made me decide to become a communication studies major. I wanted to major in

something that I could apply to my own life as well as something that I could

continue to use even after I graduated from college. in life we will always need to be

able to communicate looking at the image that I chose for my visual analysis

reminded me that communication is everywhere and it comes in different dimensions.

For me it's important t not only to be able to communicate with others but also

understand how communication works as well as the different types of

communication.

I want my paper to be able to address the understanding of communication and

not just how it works. In communications there are a lot of theories as to why we

communicate the way we do.  Often we ask the question "why does he do that why

does she speak like that." Theory acts as the answer to the "why"questions.

they're interviewing my teacher in taking a communication theory class I learned

how communication theories are applied to everyday life and that within building a

theory there are different layers and components to it.  I want my paper to be able to

answer some of those unanswered why questions and I want my paper to show the

different side of communication and how it is applied to everyday life.

One thing that I'm having trouble with now is going through the actual process

of filtering out the information that I have in picking and choosing which parts I want

to include in the paper. I want my paper to be able to answer my research question

but also answer other questions as well and be a foundation for other types of

research. I've read a lot of communication research papers and they all sound the

same so it's a matter figuring out how to make mine be different.
