Portfolio refection
The changes I made to this portfolio assignment were first moving the section that
discusses the proposal to the very beginning underneath the due date of the proposal. I
think chronologically it works better and it makes more sense to have that content
underneath the due date. Then I took out all of the details except the first two bullet
points I think the first two bullet points some up what's required.
In the audience and purpose section I started that with the second sentence and
eliminated everything else because I think it's not needed or necessary and it's just
overwhelming. In the first section I took out the beginning and started with the second
sentence because that's the actual direction and main point. As far as the questions go I
eliminated the communication habits and processes questions because in the
communication development those questions are kind of implied in our going to be
needed in order to explain the communication development. I found it to be very
repetitive.
In the second section I kept the first little paragraph as the main content in it I
think that was the point of what needs to be done for that section. Then I took out the
“important” phrase and cut it down. I took out the first half and left the second. I also
took out the planning and drafting section. I felt like this section is something that you
can explain in class while you're going over this assignment. I don't think you really need
it written out. Then I ended the section with the last bold sentence.
In the third section I took out all of the examples. I think that it was just too much
detail to say one thing. I started the section with the bold phrase that said “in your a
reflection”. For this section and left those bullet points because that's the main content
and requiring for this section. I left the portfolio evaluation criteria section the way it is. I
think it’s fine the way it is. I didn't change that at all. I looked at that section as rubric and
what the overall portfolio should have.
A lot of the things that I cut out are things that you could actually say in class. It
doesn't really need to be written down. There's always going to be questions in one-way
shape or form. So instead of being too detailed now it's more of stating what the main
requirements are and then letting the class ask questions. Overall I honestly think the
assignment just had too many details in to make it more complex than it needs to be. I
just found the main points in each section and got rid of all the unnecessary stuff.
