The first paragraph expresses how I
initially feel about writing the second half of the paragraph reminded me of my
past writing experiences. I've had in elementary school and all the way up to
high school this could be the reason why I don't like writing I think it's safe
to say that we've all had the same experience talked about in the first
paragraph.
I like
the idea of an inner critic I think this concept can be applied to anything
that you are passionate about because like the other said you were using your
thoughts emotions and insight I really like the way the author used her own
example from her own life and made it more relatable after reading just that
part it reminded me of when I started writing my own songs. I went through the
same thing when I was 14 my inner critic came to call I came home from school
and just thinking about how I learned to play different pieces from different
amazing composers and how we were paying respect to them by learning their
music. I was wondering if I should write a great piece that would live on
forever like all pass great composers. It was a dream of mine to write timeless
music but then there's reality saying you're just a child who would want to
play your music I decided to go for anyone I realize that I am my worst critic.
I like the statement that creative artist can
change the world I agree with this because creative artist see and experience
things differently creative artists use their perspective to make a difference
in the world sometimes it's to make you think about something or touch a part
of you that you didn't know you had when I write and perform my music I want
the audience to feel the emotions that I put in the music and to be changed in
someway all creative artist and authors want the same thing. They want you to have some experience
and be changed in someway and learn something.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this article I
felt like I could relate to the author as a creative artist myself and as a
person. After reading this article I
realized that composers and authors go through a similar process and face the same
inner battles and obstacles when it comes to creating something they really
isn't much difference in the way you express yourself through a creative
outlet.
Kayla, I'm glad that you compared writing to your composing process as a musician. I like that, and I relate. I think music is a language, and math is a language, touch is a language, and we can learn something about writing by comparing it with other kinds of languages.
ReplyDeleteI like how you say, "I like the statement that creative artist can change the world I agree with this because creative artist see and experience things differently creative artists use their perspective to make a difference in the world[...]"
Part of the reason I have you guys composing your writing projects on blogs is so that you CAN be more creative, more expressive. For instance, if you wanted to put a piece of your music into one of your writings, and you can find a way to make that work with the technology, you can do that! (Some blogs are better for that than others, and Blogger is very basic, I don't know what it will do, but it will do video.)
I'm looking forward to seeing what you compose for my class this semester! (I use the word compose not just for music, but for communication, whatever medium you choose to use to convey it.)
